Clark has edited for many award-winning directors, such as Spike Jonze, Mark Romanek, Paul Hunter, Sam Bayer, Kevin Kerslake, Melina Matsoukas, and Floria Sigismondi. He has edited at post houses such as Rock Paper Scissors, Red Car, 525, Smoke & Mirrors, and Propaganda Films. He developed a client list of many directors, labels, agencies, musicians, artists, & photographers. Clark was represented as a Director at Silvey and Company, Uground, A Band Apart, and Satellite Films/Propaganda, but has been solely focused on editing for the last few years.
Meanwhile, Clark was building darkrooms and experimenting with shooting and hand-processing 16mm and Super 8 film, bringing hands-on organic techniques into a digital interface. Clark directed and edited Sublime’s “What I Got” music video, winning Best Alternative Video at the MTV VMA’s, and much of his work has been nominated or received awards. The NY Times Horror shorts were nominated for an Emmy in 2018, and Bob Marley’s Legend Remixed won two Clio Awards. He has worked on over 400 projects with many high profile clients and directors, from Estee Lauder, MAC Cosmetics, Gucci, GAP, Levis, Nike, and Microsoft, to icons and legends of music such as Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna, J-Lo, Britney Spears, Will.i.am, Damian Marley, Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Rancid, and on and on; with many production companies, agencies and record labels, and through several post facilities. Feature documentary editorial work includes Artisan Entertainment’s action sports feature Keep Your Eyes Open. He has edited several surf films such as Quiksilver’s Continuum (Winner of Best Editing at X-Dance), Brokedown Melody and Billabong’s Fair Bits, as well as cutting live multi-camera concert films. Clark is the man behind the ”making-of” media for Metallica’s Death Magnetic and Hardwired albums, a massive undertaking creating films, segments, social media blasts, and raising the awareness from over 10,000 hours of studio footage.
When not immersed in music, photography, film, and sound, Clark can be found surfing, dirt biking, and back-country skiing.
