ABOUT CLARK EDDY

Clark moved to Hollywood in 1991 and started working for 525 Post Production as a client assistant, when 525 was the hottest place in town and music videos were leading the charge.   After one year at 525 he had taught himself the linear offline systems, and left 525 to work as a freelance offline editor. He started working on Avid as soon as it was available through Rock Paper Scissors, independently through Skylight Editorial, Propaganda Films, Red Car, On Time Offline, and in various edit bays all over Hollywood and the Westside.  He quickly accumulated keys to nearly every edit bay in town, along with a client list of many directors, labels, agencies, musicians, artists, & photographers. He was represented as a Director at Silvey and Company, Uground, A Band Apart, and Satellite Films/Propaganda.

Meanwhile, Clark was building darkrooms and experimenting with shooting and hand-processing 16mm and Super 8 film, bringing hands-on organic techniques into a digital interface. Clark directed and edited Sublime’s “What I Got” music video, winning Best Alternative Video at the MTV VMA’s in 1996, and much of his work has been nominated or received awards since. He has worked on over 400 projects with many high profile clients and directors, icons and legends of music such as Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna, J-Lo, Britney Spears, Will.i.am, Damian Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Marilyn Manson, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Rancid, Willie Nelson and on and on; with many production companies, agencies and record labels, and through several post facilities.  Feature documentary editorial work includes surf films Quiksilver’s Continuum, Brokedown Melody and Fair Bits, action sports Keep Your Eyes Open, and The Making of Bob Marley’s Legends Remixed.  Clark is the man behind the ”making-of” media for Metallica’s Death Magnetic and Hardwired albums, a massive undertaking creating films, segments, social media blasts, and raising the awareness from over 10,000 hours of studio footage.

Immersed in music, photography, film, and sound.
